Week 7
Week 7 wrapped! Here’s everything we learned this week:
1. Work is still work, even if you’re doing what you love every day. “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” is not (always) true. I think the stigmatism with the saying is that doing what you love will feel like vacation. However, not working means you are enjoying time off. Work is still work. There’s a difference.
Week 6
We’ve completed six weeks of working in Visit Villegas full-time? Here’s everything Marina learned last week:
1. It’s time to get up earlier and go to bed earlier. I’ve slowly been wondering if I should change my sleep habits and it was confirmed for me at church yesterday. All of my daily non-negotiable tasks still stand. I just need to prioritize them outside of my work day. If it’s a non-negotiable task in my life, it should come before work hours, not during.
Week 5
We’ve completed 5 weeks of content creating full-time! Here are some major life lessons I’ve learned in the last week:
1. Closing shift is necessary🧼“Closing time” is just a way to say intentional cleaning up before you go to bed. Last week I found myself having to pause in the middle of what should be working hours to clean the kitchen so that I could work. Taking 15-30 minutes at night so that the kitchen is clean in the morning has made a huge impact!
Week 4
Week 4 (1 ENTIRE MONTH) of being a content creator! Here’s everything I’ve learned during week 4:
1. Treat yourself as your own client. The to-do list is always growing and all of it feels important. If this was an office job, what are the non-negotiable for the day? What are the absolute must be done today items? Sometimes it’s easier to pour into someone else’s needs because you can clearly see what they need.
Week 3
Week 3 has come and gone! Here’s everything I learned during my 3rd week as a content creator!
1. Get dressed every day. Show up for your platform and for yourself. My mom taught me to get fully ready for the day-every day (makeup, hair, and outfit). Always be ready to leave the house at any moments notice. This alone helps me stay professional every day for myself.
Week 2
Week 2 Wrapped! Here’s what I learned last week as a full time content creator (Wow, I had a hard time leaving that part of the sentence in there😂).
1. Wear more deodorant AND reapply! 🧼 I have been sweating profusely more because putting yourself out there like this has more risk. High risk but a high reward. It’s practically a daily adrenaline rush because I am more excited and proud to be taking these risks every day.
Week 1
Here’s what I’ve learned in week one of making lemonade out of lemons. AKA, getting let go from my job and having no plan B except for content creating.
1. The freedom has been a weight off of my shoulders. Haven’t had my quiet time yet? No guilt. I can stop everything I’m doing to read my Bible for however long is needed. Haven’t been to the gym in a year? Great. Let’s go now! It’s not that I’m trying to push away the my new responsibilities I just now have more time to prioritize my physical and spiritual needs. Which have been put on the side for far too long.
