Week 5

We’ve completed 5 weeks of content creating full-time! Here are some major life lessons I’ve learned in the last week:

1. Closing shift is necessary🧼“Closing time” is just a way to say intentional cleaning up before you go to bed. Last week I found myself having to pause in the middle of what should be working hours to clean the kitchen so that I could work. Taking 15-30 minutes at night so that the kitchen is clean in the morning has made a huge impact!

2. Break the bad🤜 Do you ever look at a picture and think, “I love how that house looks but mine could never look like that”? Let’s break down that mindset. By thinking this way, it creates a habit of believing what you want in life can’t be yours because you can’t imagine it. Ask yourself, “What’s one thing in that dream life, house, etc. that could be mine with one simple change?” For example, last week the floor lamp I bought was a great purchase to help our living room have a touch of more modern/traditional. We have so many antiques I absolutely adore but if I don’t add a mixture of other styles, then I won’t get to my end goal. It’s Complicated (a movie) is a staple house goal for a lot of people (slide 4). If I want my house to look like that, I would need to pause my regular antiques-only shopping habits and think, what could I do differently to get to where I want to be? Start with something simple!

3. Stay up to date 😉With both of us working so hard right now, we’re trying to find ways to still date each other or have intentional time. Yesterday at the grocery store, I picked up some popcorn and we had a good ole fashioned movie night. No phones. Snacks and a movie. The no phones part made all the difference!

Week 6 has begun and I have TWO, count ‘em, TWO announcements for Visit Villegas this week.
