Megan’s Lemon Tale
“This past June, my husband & I got married! After a year full of building our home and wedding planning it was a day we'd been dreaming of for what felt like forever.
The ceremony was wonderful, and everything was going as planned… until I felt a sharp pain in my ear & immediately lost complete hearing on one side during the ceremony. It was only downhill from that point on, as a dull ache quickly transitioned to a pain so miserable I was holding back tears up until dinner. It got so bad that we contemplated potentially needing to miss our reception.
Cory recognized the pain that I was in and immediately made a plan. He ushered me downstairs where we could take a breather from all the noise. While our guests ate dinner above us, Cory pulled out some ear drops and our favorite bottle of whiskey. He did everything he could to help me feel better and we danced our little hearts out to one of our favorite songs while we waited for the pain to subside.
When we recall our favorite parts of the day outside of the ceremony, we both agree this moment was at the top of our list. Despite the pain and the uncertainty of the situation, we were able to turn a potentially disastrous turn of events into a sweet and intimate moment that we'll never forget.
In the end, our wedding day wasn't what we had envisioned, but it was so much better than we could have ever imagined. It was a true testament to our love and commitment to each other (especially the “in sickness & in health” part), and it showed us that no matter what life throws our way, we'll be able to handle it together.”
