Marina’s Lemon Tale

“Since I was 17 nothing about my life has been traditional. I took three gap years between high school and college. When I got to college every one of my peers from high school was about to graduate and I was just getting started. At the time, I was tempted to feel behind, silly, awkward, and out of place. Why even try? I wasn’t even sure what I wanted to go to college for in the first place. I changed my major, pushed through, and graduated early! If I hadn’t gone to college at the time that I did, I (likely) wouldn’t have met my husband, (likely) wouldn’t have ended up in Texas, creating here with all of you! What felt like a sour (very awkward) lemon at the time turned out to be the sweetest lemonade. I’m so glad I went when I did and graduated because it has shaped me into the person I am today and I met the love of my life!”
